ECONOMIE COMPORTAMENTALĂ ÎN LIMBA ENGLEZĂ (EC EN)

Programul de master în Economie Comportamentală oferit de Facultatea de Administrație de Afaceri împreună cu Facultatea de Psihologie şi Ştiinţele Educaţiei din cadrul Universităţii din București își propune să formeze specialiști în domeniul proceselor decizionale și în cel al interacțiunii strategice, printr-o abordare integrată a mecanismelor care guvernează comportamentul economic.
Programul de adresează celor care își doresc să își dezvolte abilitățile manageriale, de analiză interdisciplinară a fenomenelor economice și sociale, de consiliere și consultanță individuală și la nivel de organizație.
Obiectivele programului de master pot fi sintetizate astfel:
-          Formarea unui grup de specialişti cu o pregătire complexă și interdisciplină pentru domeniul administrării afacerilor;
-          Dezvoltarea activităţilor de cercetare ştiinţifică şi consultanţă în domeniul afacerilor, prin prisma filozofie și metodelor economiei comportamentală;
-          Perfecţionarea învăţământului superior economic prin fondarea unei structuri de predare și cercetare avansată în domeniul emergent al economiei comportamentale (implicând în mod necesar integrarea resurselor și cunoștințelor din domenii interdisciplinare);
-          Sprijinirea cadrelor didactice pentru formarea continuă focalizată, atât prin pregătire individuală cât și prin participarea la competiţii vizând proiecte de cercetare ştiinţifică (finanţate din fonduri naţionale şi ale U.E);
-          Cooperarea cu universităţi din ţară şi străinătate pentru dezvoltarea unui învăţământ modern şi eficient.
 
În plus față de competențele practice, prin conținutul său programul își propune să implice masteranzii în activități specifice de cercetare științifică interdisciplinară.
Programul este organizat în limba engleză, pentru a permite implicarea specialiștilor din mediul internațional și de a oferi astfel o pregătire permanent racordată noutăților din domeniu.

Metodele de lucru cu studenţii vizează două direcții: practica de afaceri, pe studii de caz şi proiecte la nivel de firmă,ca şi pe experimente realizate în scopul punerii în evidenţă a relaţiei de tip cauză – efect dintre variabilele de interes.
 
Competenţele generaleale programului universitar de studii de master se concretizează  printre altele în capacitatea de analiză şi sinteză a fenomenelor economice şi de afaceri de pe coordonate complexe, capacitatea de a înţelege şi de a explica tipare de comportament cu impact asupra deciziilor economice, abilitatea de a construi designuri din care să poată fi puse în evidenţă relaţii de cauzalitate între diferite variabile economice sau neeconomice, dar cu impact asupra mărimilor de interes la nivel de afacare, capacitatea de a soluţiona probleme economice de interacţiune strategică, dobândirea aptitudinilor necesare în activităţile de consultanţă etc.
 
Competenţele profesionalegenerate de studiile programului includ capacitatea de:
-          A oferi consiliere pentru procesele de luare strategică a deciziilor, construire de relații și programe care să stimuleze încrederea, participarea și împuternicirea angajaților, a partenerilor de afaceri sau a altor stakeholderi.
-          A ajusta stimulentele, strategiile și politicile de dezvoltare ale organizației în funcție de mutațiile care au loc pe piață, dar și prin prisma analizei mediului intern.
-          A comunica în mod eficace, luând în considerare variabile economice și noneconomice de influență, alături de factori de natură psihologică și sociologică.
 
Debuşeele profesionaleale absolvenţilor specializării programului de master vizează următoarele categorii de angajatori:
-          companii multinaţionale;
-          instituţii publice;
-          firme de consultanţă;
-          întreprinderi mici şi mijlocii;
-          organizaţii non-guvernamentale (ONG) etc.

Description



BEHAVIORAL ECONOMICS IN ENGLISH (EC EN) 

The Master Program in Behavioral Economics, offered by the Faculty of Administration and Business together with the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences from the University of Bucharest, aims to help prepare specialists in the areas of decision processes and strategic interaction. In order to achieve this purpose, we use an approach which integrates the different mechanisms governing economic behavior.
The program is intended for people who wish to develop their skills in areas such as management, interdisciplinary analysis of economic and social phenomena or consulting, be it at an individual or organizational level.
The program’s objectives can be summed up as follows:
-          To form a group of specialists which have a complex and interdisciplinary training in the area of business administration;
-          To develop scientific and consulting activities, in relation to the business environment, in line with the perspective and methods found in behavioral economics;
-          To enhance economic education at the university level, by creating an advanced research and teaching platform in the emerging domain of behavioral economics (while integrating resources and knowledge from other interdisciplinary domains);
-          To assist the faculty by supporting life-long learning on focused topics, both at the individual level as well as through participation in research projects (financed at the national or EU level);
-          To cooperate with other universities, from the country or from abroad, in order to develop a modern and efficient education system.
Moving beyond the standard practical competencies covered by the program, we also aspire to involve the master’s students in relevant interdisciplinary research activities.
The program is taught in English, so as to facilitate the involvement of specialists from the international community and to ensure that the knowledge is at the cutting edge of new discoveries in this area of study.

The teaching methods focus on two areas: business practice, involving case studies and company level projects, and experimental studies, with the purpose of bringing to light cause and effect relationships between important variables.
The general competencies gained by the students, with the aid of the master’s program are, among others: the ability to analyze and summarize complex economic phenomena, the capacity to understand and explain behavioral patterns and their impact on economic decisions, the ability to design methods which can be used to bring forward causality relationships between different economic and non-economic variables, which have an impact at the level of the company, the ability to solve strategic interaction problems, the ability to use specialized knowledge with the purpose of offering business consulting etc.
The professional competencies gained by students, with the aid of the master’s program, are:
-          The ability to offer consulting for strategic decision making processes, building relationships and creating programs which stimulate the development of trust, involvement and empowerment of employees, business partners and other stakeholders.
-          The knowledge of how to adjust stimulants, strategies and development policies for the organization, in relation to changes on the market, while also considering the internal environment of the company.
-          The capacity to communicate in an efficient manner, taking into account important economic and non-economic variables, along with psychological and sociological factors.
The career prospects of the graduates involve working for one of the following types of employers:
-          Multinationals
-          Public institutions
-          Consulting companies
-          Small and medium enterprises
-          Non-governmental organizations
Or doing the following types of work:
-       Market analyst
-       Decision support system designer

Master program in Behavioral Economics
 
The entrance selection to the master program in Behavioral Economics:
 
The applicants will submit a research project proposal concerning a practical problem of interest for them. The proposals will be reviewed by the Admission Committee and graded based on their structure, clarity and relevance for the field of Behavioral Economics. Critical thinking, concision and writing are skills that will be of a great importance, as well as basic knowledge in fundamental concepts that Behavioral Economics addresses.

RESEARCH PROJECT PROPOSAL

Have you ever thought on how could you determine people (including yourself) to exercise more, consume less, pay their taxes, make some savings and in general achieve their objectives?
 
Have you ever wondered yourself where the differences between your economic behavior and another person’s economic behavior arise? Have you ever wanted to know whether poor people have different economic behaviors patterns than reach people? And have you ever liked to know what’s the best incentive to make people (including yourself) to save more, spend less and yet live happily?
 
If the answer is yes and you have identified some type of problematic behavior which needs an intervention, the master program in Behavioral Economics is the perfect framework for preparing a feasible and significant solution.
 
First of all, we recommend you to do the basic readings available here. Then, you can try to answer the following questions. This will be of a great help in building up your own case.
 
Finally, you should send us your concerns and preoccupations in the form of a concise description of the issue (max 8000 characters), according to the following structure and instructions. If you go over the word count, the evaluation committee will delete the extra words and will assess your proposal based on the truncated text.

Then, prepare for the evaluation: we will be evaluating your research project proposals on July 26th! And you will know the results by the end of that day. 


Required documents



In order to apply for the master program in Behavioral Economics you need the following documents:
 
·         Identity Card (simple copy)
·         High School Diploma (in original or certified copy)
·         Bachelor Diploma (in original or certified copy; only for 2014 graduates a temporary certificate is acceptable, stating that he/she graduated and the mark received at the final bachelor exam)
·         Birth Certificate (certified copy)
·         Marriage Certificate (certified copy; if the case)
·         English Certificate (simple copy)
·         Proof of fee payment (the payment is exempted in some specific cases, which need certification: at least one parent is a teacher, both parents are deceased et.al.)
·         4 photos (ID type)
·         Medical certificate (stating the he/she is clinically healthy and able to attend faculty courses)
·         CV, in Europass format (2 copies)
·         Letter of intent (presenting the experience and motivation – 2 copies)
·         An application form (available on the registration site)
·         Your project proposal (2 copies)
·         A folder type `envelope`
 
The copies of the documents should be brought at the Secretariat. The calendar of the admission exam will be announced as soon as the University of Bucharest will release it.
 
The applicants who don't have an English Certificate are invited to come at the Faculty of Business and Administration for an evaluation. Details will be available along with the information about the admission exam.
 
The applicants who are not UE citizens need diploma recognition for their bachelor diploma. They are invited to contact for guidance the Foreign Office of the University of Bucharest.
